Privacy Policy

The short version

Onovel is built to be read, not to harvest your data. To run the app we use a single random device identifier (a device UUID) so the app can recognise your device, keep your library and reading progress in sync, and remember what you’ve unlocked. We don’t ask for your name, your email, or your location to read.

What we collect

• A device identifier (UUID). A random ID generated on your device. It lets the app save your place, restore your library, and recognise purchases without you creating a username or password.
• Your reading activity, tied to that identifier. Which novels you open, the chapters you’ve unlocked, your current spot in a story and your coin balance — so reading picks up where you left off.
• Purchase records. When you buy coins or a premium plan, Apple processes the payment. We receive a confirmation that a purchase happened so we can grant what you bought. We never see or store your card details.
• What you send us. If you email support, we receive your email address and whatever you write so we can reply.

What we don't collect

We don’t require an account, a name, a phone number or your precise location to read. We don’t sell your data, and we don’t use third-party advertising or cross-app tracking. The device identifier is used to run Onovel — not to build an advertising profile of you.

How we use it

• Keep your library, reading progress and unlocks in sync on your device.
• Grant the coins or premium access you purchased through the App Store.
• Keep the app working, diagnose problems and prevent abuse.
• Answer you when you contact support.

Payments

All purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store under Apple’s terms and privacy policy. Onovel does not collect or store your payment-card information. Manage or cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.

Data retention

We keep the data tied to your device identifier for as long as the app is in use on that device, so your library and progress stay available. Support emails are kept as long as needed to resolve your request and keep a record of it. You can ask us to delete the data associated with your device at any time (see below).

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct or delete the data associated with your device, or to object to certain uses. Because we identify you only by a device UUID, please email us from the device in question or include enough detail for us to locate the right record. Children

Onovel is intended for adults and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, contact us and we’ll remove the associated data.

Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect the limited data we hold. No method of transmission or storage is ever completely secure, but we work to keep your reading data safe.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle data, we’ll update this page and the “last updated” date above. Material changes will be reflected here before they take effect.
